The Queenstown Planning Commission met May 7, 2025; members present included Matt Reno, Peter Johnston, Paul Cain, Mike Bowell, Geneva Thrasher-Rieu, Amy Moore, and Sue Donaldson (via Zoom). The Commission voted unanimously to recommend that Sue Donaldson be appointed to the Planning Commission to fill a vacancy. Town Manager updates covered: the death and service details for Lane Cole; county planning will not change code now regarding vertical lift aircraft; a new water tank and associated infrastructure have been put out to bid with a pre-bid meeting and bids due the first week of June; Commissioners approved redesign services for breakwater/dredge material and permits with a DNR dredging grant preliminarily approved for $1.5 million; Ms. Moore met with Tom Leigh from the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay about free technical assistance and possible funding; new channel signage is inaccurately labeled; and town center was discussed as residential/commercial. In old business, corridor management remains pending and the Nicholson/Clark subdivision has not resubmitted paperwork (a surveyor called about a water/sewer connection shown on the subdivision plot). In new business the Commission agreed to recommend issuing a solar permit for 102 Dudley Ave., approved the April 2, 2025 minutes, and adjourned at 6:36 p.m.
