The Queenstown Planning Commission met April 5, 2023 with five commissioners/staff attending (three in person, three virtually). A resident, Cory Walters, asked for clarification on town ordinances and discussed purchasing neighbor property to build a 2,400 sq ft pole barn and whether it would be a principal or accessory building. Town Manager updates covered seeking additional funding (including a Resiliency Through Restoration grant) for future channel-dredging phases, the County filing for federal funding, a study approved by the Golf Course and Blakeford, upcoming discussion with SHA traffic engineers about speeding, dock resurfacing options, and the FY24 budget. Old business noted Royal Farms is no longer participating in Phase I of Wheatland’s due to sewage line costs and work to integrate the MD Bike/Pedestrian 2050 plan into the Corridor Management Plan; Cory Walters’ Del Rhodes matter was also noted. New business: March minutes were approved, commissioners discussed making the zoning application process more transparent (checklists and ordinance locations) with staff noting existing checklists and applicant guidance, and permit reviews were conducted for 7004 Main St (no objections), 6750 Main St (no objections), and 101 Davidson Ave (issue noted: fence vs locking pool cover). Public Comment: none Town Manager Updates: -Exploring additional funding sources, including Resiliency Through Restoration grant for future phases of channel dredging project, first phase is looking at three locations to determine best candidates for spoils, County filed for federal funding on behalf of Town, Golf Course and Blakeford approve study; -Commissioner's meeting- SHA, engineers of traffrc, to discuss concerns of speeding in town -Commissioner's reviewing options for resurfacing dock areas -FY24 budget -Congrats to Matt for winning egg tapping contest Old Business -Wheatland's: Royal Farms no longer interested in participating in phase I due to sewage line costs -Corridor Management Plan: MD Bike/Pedestrian 2050 plan, Matt will reach out to explore integrating trails master plan; Mike will reach out to country to integrate into Corridor Management planning; -646Del Rhodes: Cory Walters was present earlier in meeting.
