Queenstown Planning Commission March 212022 Minutes Phil Snyder, Chairman, called meeting to order 7:00 pm In attendance were Phil Snyder, Chairman, Matt Reno, Vice-Chair, Paul Cain, Mike Bowell, Peter Johnston, Planner, Geneva Rieu, Secretary, and Amy Moore, Town Manager.

No guests or public comment Town Manager Updates:

- Mr. Lex Birney submitted a request to amend LDA boundaries at golf course: will be presented

to Commissioners at March meeting then back to PC, Critical Area Commission will be notified and will need to review and make recommendations at April meeting; PC requesting presence of someone from golf course for dialogue for April meeting.

- Regional trails workshop, April23 at Chesapeake College, (Owen Bailey), unsure of platform.

- Commissioner's started conversation with Talkie Communications (internet, broadband),

contract with Breezeline up for renewal in2023, to provide another option to community

- Playground repairs/replacement approved by Commissioners, repairing surface

- Dredging complete at the docks; waiting on permit to start landing, awaiting hearing with

Board of Public Works for wetlands permit.

- Dock repairs: put out to bid, one bid $240,000, not accepted by commissioners, over budget,

- Federal channel dredging, applied for $100,000 grants, DNR approved, now must go through

legislature

- Working on access on Del Rhodes to new water tower property, water testing complete

Old Business:

-Wheatland's: Greenlee group revised impact study, being reviewed by Commissioner's -No update on parks grant -Water Tower branding: discussion of process.

-Commercial/Oversized vehicle parking: Steamboat/MD Ave; request for PC to review ordinance concerning parking.

New Business -Critical Area Commission Updates: water dependent chapter of state Regs, updates need to be worked into town regs in next 6 months.

-Forest Conservation Act, Statutory Changes: wait until2022 session is over -2 new pieces of legislation being proposed on legalizing marijuana, Mike suggested town should be ahead of legislation and impact on community, to review current ordinances to account for changes.

-Street light out at driveway of 235 Melvin.

-House at the end of Comegys, several vehicles, trailer, parking in vacant lot. Who owns that atea?

-January 5,2022 minutes- motion by Paul Cain to accqlt, 2ndby Matt Reno, no oppose There being no further business, Matt Reno motioned to adjourn at 8:20 p.m., motion 2nd, no oppose.
