Town of Queenstown Planning Commission Minutes April 6, 2016 A regular meeting of the Queenstown Planning Commission was held on April 6, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Office. Present were Planning Commission members, Phil Snyder, Al Hardee, and Don Regenhardt. Guests present were Peter Johnston, Town Planner, George Plumbo, Town Commissioner, Jeanne and John Fitzgerald, and Brent Cohee.

Al Hardee, Vice Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

NEW BUSINESS

Guests’ Time:

1. There were no guest comments

2. Town Commissioners Updates

a. Wastewater Treatment Plant: Commissioner Plumbo stated that the new Wastewater Treatment Plant is up and running and that the accompanying demolition of the old plant is almost done. He further stated that the design requires installation of a “reservoir” and the Commissioners welcome inputs from the Planning Commission and from Town Citizens. He added that the new plant is processing approximately 70,000 gallons of wastewater a day.

b. Dudley Family Property: Commissioner Plumbo stated that the Dudley Family is contemplating annexation of one or more of their properties into Town.

OLD BUSINESS

1. Updated Community Plan: The Community Plan Update public hearing is

scheduled for Monday, April 25 at 7:00 PM at the Queenstown Methodist Church.

2. Wheatland Farm:

a. Wheatland Farm Information Package: Action of the Wheatland Farm Information Package was deferred until the May meeting in order to provide adequate time for review.

b. Planning Commission Visit to the Wheatland Farm: Mr. Hardee suggested a visit by Planning Commission members and any interested citizens to the Wheatland Farm property. Members expressed support for such a visit.

3. Town Planning and Infrastructure: No items were raised for discussion.

4. Planning Commission Annual Report:

a. Town Planner Draft: Mr. Johnston prepared a draft and sent it to the Town Office. No further information on its status was available.

b. Queenstown Region Transportation Planning: Mr. Johnston’s draft Annual Report included comments on regional transportation. Following on to his comments in the draft Mr. Regenhardt initiated a discussion of a course of action the Town should take to cause the State Highway Administration to review planning for this region. Members present agreed that this topic should be raised during the SHA’s Annual “Road Show” meeting at the

County.

5. Planning Commission Public Forum April 25, 2016: See Old Business item 1

above.

6. Cohee Revised Duplex Plan Review (Charity Lane): The following motion was

made by Mr. Regenhardt, seconded by Mr. Snyder and carried unanimously. “I move that notice of a revision to the plans for the duplex at the corner of Main and Charity be posted for a 14 day period as required by Part IV, paragraph 42, Community Redevelopment Overlay District, subparagraph H, of the Queenstown Zoning Ordinance and that the Planning Commission defer action on the revised plans until

after the 14 day period.”

7. Pending Requests and Permits: None to be considered.

Approval of the Minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of March 2, 2016 was deferred for lack of a quorum of members in attendance at that meeting There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
